With technology becoming such a large part of our everyday lives, it’s important to many of us that we stay connected wherever we go. Ford is making it easier and safer for you to stay connected on the road with the new MyFord Touch.

MyFord Touch aims to eliminate distractions while keeping you connected behind the wheel. A touch screen controls the whole system, giving you complete control over seat and temperature settings, your entertainment system and your cell phone. Different colors are used for all these areas for easy recognition while you’re on the road.

Voice-activated technology allows you to make phone calls, adjust your temperature and browse through your iPod or radio stations without ever taking your eyes off the road. A small screen next to your speedometer displays what your MyFord Touch is doing so you don’t have to even turn your head for this information.

When your vehicle is stopped, even more features become available to you with MyFord Touch. Your vehicle becomes a Wi-Fi hotspot on wheels with a USB air card or mobile broadband modem. You can view your favorite social networking sites, such as Facebook and Twitter, on the touch screen using either the onscreen or an external USB keyboard to navigate.

Drivers can personalize their system by using it to save their seat, temperature, radio and lighting settings. With this, people who share cars can each easily adjust the vehicle back to their settings when they get back in the driver’s seat. These settings can also be taken from car to car with an SD card or USB key if the other vehicles also have the MyFord Touch technology.

Many are excited for what this new technology will mean for the rest of the automotive world.
