May 18, 2012
Lexus of Omaha recently received the brand new Lexus Nürburgring edition LFA. The car will be on display at their dealership for the next few weeks as well as community events around Omaha.
Lexus of Omaha received a red pearl colored LFA, one of 175 of the models being sold in the United States. Only 500 of the models are being made to order. The Lexus Nürburgring edition LFA costs over $400,000, and is a two seater car that is the most expensive model in the Lexus lineup. This supercar tops out at a speed of 202 mph and was designed for car fans who like to drive fast. This high performance vehicle has many race car features including flat-bottom steering as well as hand and gear shifts attached to the steering wheel.
The LFA is designed to be a halo product for Lexus and demonstrate where the brand is going with their future designs. It can go from zero to 62 mph in under 4 seconds. This supercar was first developed in early 2000 and the first version of the vehicle was built in 2003. In 2005, the first concept version of the LFA was shown at the Detroit Auto Show and production started in 2010. The LFA is the second model in the F-series line of performance vehicles from Lexus, following the IS F.
Other features of the rear-wheel drive vehicle include a V10 engine and 562 horsepower. Each LFA is hand built by a team of skilled craftsmen and is made of a carbon fiber exterior and also features a red and black interior.
