Ford has been working hard to keep at the top of the most fuel efficient vehicles, and the two that stand out the most are the Fusion Hybrid and the Escape Hybrid. Both hybrid versions get over 30 mpg in the city and on the highway. Here are the two vehicles by Ford that will keep you saving money at the pump.
The 2010 Ford Fusion is the second most fuel-efficient family sedan at 39 mpg. Currently the Ford Fusion qualify for up to an $850 federal tax credit if you purchase before April 1, 2010. The difference between the Fusion and the hybrid version here are: The MPG obviously, the hybrid will save you nearly $600 of fuel each year, however it does cost $8,000 more to purchase. The 2010 Ford Fusion hybrid was rated one of Kelly Blue Book’s greenest cars of 2010 and was also named North American Car of the Year at the Detroit Auto Show.

The Ford family has the only members in the over-30 mpg SUV club. The hybrid Ford Escape’s fuel efficiency gets as good as the tiny Mini Cooper. The differences between the Escape and the Hybrid version is it costs $11,000 more, but it costs between $440 and $570 less to fuel every year. The Escape hybrid qualifies for a federal tax credit of up to $750 if purchased by March 31, 2010.
